Our family just returned from our annual trip to the Wisconsin Dells. Usually we just go to the waterparks and arcades and try to relax. This year our 10 year old son decided he wanted to take up skiing and there just so happened to be a great ski hill at our resort. The only problem is that our teenagers snowboard and don’t know how to ski and John and I haven’t skiied in over 25 years. I am not a fan of being outdoors in the winter, so it was up to John to help Connor out.
Let me preface the rest of this story by sharing that John has not been a very active or athletic person most of his life. He started training at FT about 3 months ago and went from really hating exercise to now needing it and liking it. If you would have asked me 1 year ago to have him teach Connor how to ski I would have said, “no way”! He would have for sure been injured or suffered pain for days after. Well, now after spending 3 months training at FT building endurance and CORE STRENGTH he spent hours skiing and never fell down, suffered no injuries, took no breaks and felt amazing the next day.
Exercise doesn’t just have to be about weight loss, it can be about improving your ability to enjoy life to it’s fullest even as you get older! CORE STRENGTH and the endurance that comes from a well rounded exercise program will help you with your activities of daily living and even to do things you thought you might never do again. My husband never thought he would ski again and if he weren’t exercising like he is now, he probably wouldn’t have.

I never in a million years thought I would be running a half marathon!!!! The power of activity and exercise is amazing.
Thanks for the great (i.e. brutally tough) hard workout today!!!
